Lewis surprised himself by falling asleep on the plane after an hour’s delay in Queenstown while they cleared snow off the runway. He did not wake until the pilot announced their impending arrival into Christchurch Airport. Damn it! He’d missed his connection to Sydney.Lewis hated changes to plans, but all he could think was—it was worth it. Thirty-four years old and he’d just discovered you could improve on perfection. He thought their first night had surpassed every sexual expectation. He was wrong.

Forget his promises about a strictly working relationship from now on. Lewis was old enough to know that chemistry of this kind was super-rare. Madeline would resist at first. He smiled, knowing what store she put on her professional reputation. Just one of the many things he admired about his new COO.

He disembarked and made his way straight through to the first-class departures counter.

“The next flight to Sydney departs at four-thirty.”

Lewis groaned. “What about indirectly?”

“Via Melbourne? In three hours.”

There was nothing to do but wait in the Pacific Star VIP lounge. The worst of it was, he could have had another hour in bed with her. As he walked away from the counter, he recalled her face as she slept this morning. He’d stooped and dropped a kiss right on her beauty spot, just like last time. She probably wouldn’t even remember.

“Can you make sure I am called in two hours, please?” he asked the hostess on the door of the VIP lounge. “I may try for some shut-eye.”

He looked around approvingly. The lounge was very quiet. Helping himself to some juice from the buffet, he chose a comfortable lounger next to a sun-drenched window.

For the first time in his life, he allowed his mind to consider something more than someone to warm his bed occasionally. He pictured Madeline in his old villa in Double Bay. Waking in his bed. Smiling as she ate breakfast on his deck overlooking the ocean. Sitting on his bed rolling gossamer-sheer stockings up her endless, beautiful legs—or better—rolling them down.

They could go into work together…

Whoa, boy! No sense getting ahead of himself. She hadn’t even started yet, but one thing was for sure, one or two nights was never going to be enough.

He sat up, suddenly not in the least tired. Things were going to change. It was time he took something for himself now. He would have his COO and her sweet body, too.

Someone tapped his shoulder. “Do you mind if I put the television on?” The man indicated the TV remote on the table beside Lewis. He handed it over, but his inner plasma screen replayed Madeline riding him, still in her garter belt, stockings and boots.

He was going to embarrass himself in public at this rate.

A few feet away, the television chattered quietly, some breakfast TV. He picked up his juice and then heard the word “Queenstown” spoken, saw the light dusting of snow, and then a shot of the Premier Waterfront Hotel.

It was amazing how fond he’d become of the little tourist mecca after only a week….
